Darren and his wife Emily own and run Caffe Mela, a community coffeehouse and live music venue located in the heart of downtown Wenatchee, Washington. When not behind the espresso bar or the mixing console Darren enjoys sitting in and performing with various artists that make appearances at the shop. Trained as a jazz drummer, Darren feels at home with "anything that grooves". He has studied privately with some of the region's most notable drummers including Scott Ketron and John Bishop, and has performed in groups sharing the stage with Dave Matthews, Natalie Cole, Collective Soul, Morissey and The Smiths, Loudermilk, Blinker The Star, and others.
